Known
as the Pit Bull of the Tennessee Titans defense
for his ability to track down opposing ball carriers regardless
of where they are on the field, Keith's tenacious and defiant
style of play have become a trademark, enabling him to become
one of the squads fiercest and finest players.
After Keith was selected with the Titans first pick
in the 2000 NFL draft, he promised family members and friends
that he would become one of the leagues best players
at his position once he became a starter. Having secured
the teams starting outside linebacker position since
2002, Bulluck has kept his promise as he is widely considered
as one of the leagues top players at his position
earning Associated Press All-Pro honors at the end of the
2003 season.
Keith has led the Titans in tackles in each of the last
two seasons, becoming the first player to record more than
170 tackles in consecutive seasons (171 in 2003; 180 in
2002) since Gregg Bingham in 1980-81. The former Syracuse
Orangeman is the only defensive player during the Fisher
era to have totaled more than 300 combined tackles over
a two-year period. In fact, he is one of only four players
in franchise history (Robert Abraham (1983-84, 1984-85);
Bingham (1979-80, 1980-81, 1983-84) and Ray Childress (1985-86)
who can lay claim as to having accomplished the feat. Bulluck
has posted double-digit tackles in 19 of the last 32 regular
season games (59%) in which he has started.
Following a 2002 season in which he was named second-team
All-Pro, Bulluck was named first-team All-Pro and earned
his first trip to the Pro Bowl last season. He has a charismatic
personality, which makes him a media favorite and one of
the teams most outspoken players. He teams with fellow
New York native Lance Schulters as part of the duo who has
nicknamed the defense Tennessee Tyrants. He
was originally selected with the 30th overall draft pick
in 2000.
